'Newport Harbour' Color Linocut, a/p (date unknown) by Isabella Walker (1901-1987). Similar if not the same boat linocut for 'Low Tide'.

This is another print given to me by my friend, Leon Wiesener.

Isabella Walker, born in Dunkirk New York and died in Washington DC.

Received a BFA from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 1922, where she won an honorable mention in a bookplate competition. She worked initially in commercial art with end plates, illustration etc. In 1934 she moved to Washington DC and worked in multiple media see below.

From 1951-1963 she was a cartographer for the Army Map Service.

Exhibited at the Smithsonian, Georgetown University, University of Virginia, Baltimore Art Museum and the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

Most remembered for her prints,woodcuts and linocuts. Was known to have spent some time in Provincetown, Masssachusetts working on same.

Was a member of the Arts Club of Washington
